    PG Bug reporting form <noreply@postgresql.org> — 2023-03-21T01:39:01Z

The following bug has been logged on the website:

    Bug reference: 17857
    Logged by: Richard Ballard
    Email address: ballard.programmer@gmail.com
    PostgreSQL version: 15.2
    Operating system: Windows 11
    Description:

Installed the latest version of Postgresql (v15.2) - Opened up pgadmin 4 to
    be told it is outdated.
Go to remove pgadmin4 to update through the following method:
Navigate to Add/Remove programs, select PostgreSQL 15, click the elipse and
select uninstall confirm with windows UAC.

Get a message popping up stating:
This app can't run on your PC, to find a version for your PC, check with the
    software publisher.

I would expect it to be able to be uninstalled through usual methods.

    Hi

What version of pgAdmin do you see? Also, the error "This app can't run on
your PC, to find a version for your PC, check with the
software publisher." probably means either the installation is corrupted or
some anti-virus is blocking the application.

Manika, can you check if you are able to execute the uninstaller properly
    and confirm to be sure?

    Hi Sandeep

Just some further information if you need it.

I am currently running version 6.19 of pgAdmin 4, This was installed with a
new fresh install on the 21/03/2023 from the main site here: PostgreSQL:
    Downloads <https://www.postgresql.org/download/>
I am running Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 with the OS build being 22621.1413.
I have no third party security suite, Only the default windows defender.

Postgressql works as expected along with pgAdmin 4, Until I try to
uninstall it to try and update to pgAdmin 4 v6.20.

    With regards

    Ricky

    Hi,
After a thorough investigation of this issue, we can conclude that the Postgres install/uninstall is working fine on all other supported Windows versions.
On Windows 11, it’s seen intermittently and the internet search shows the people who are experiencing similar behaviour with other applications also on Win11. So the issue seems with Windows 11.
That said, we will look further to handle it in the package if possible but we can’t promise that at the moment.
