problems with table

Hi,
I am using postgresql 7 and somehow for some reason one of my tables came up
with an error message:


ERROR:  cannot find attribute 1 of relation users

I noticed a field was missing, but the index is still there.
It wont let me do anything. alter table;vacuum etc...

Im desperate for help here!
