proposal:
Postgresql 18 Linux (all flavors)  -  with installation, create new
instance/main database:
    sudo -u postgres /usr/pgsql-18/bin/pg_ctl -D /var/lib/pgsql/18/data/ initdb

this way Postgresql is ready to use...
