I'm seeing the below results with your script on my machine (). I ran it
several times, results were almost similar each time.

master:
Run 100 100 5000000: 1.627905512
Run 1024 10240 200000: 1.603231684
Run 1024 1048576 2000: 2.962812352
Run 1048576 1048576 1000: 2.940766748

v5:
Run 100 100 5000000: 1.611508155
Run 1024 10240 200000: 1.603505596
Run 1024 1048576 2000: 2.727241937
Run 1048576 1048576 1000: 2.721268988
