    PG Bug reporting form <noreply@postgresql.org> — 2024-10-04T13:49:54Z

The following bug has been logged on the website:

    Bug reference: 18646
    Logged by: Daniil
    Email address: 28muskin06@gmail.com
    PostgreSQL version: 17.0
    Operating system: Windows
    Description:

When the installer starts, the first window pops up, after which it closes
and an error pops up after a couple of seconds:
    *******************************************************************

There has been an error. A debug file has been created at:

    C:/Users/D!5}/AppData/Local/Temp/installbuilder_debug_1444.xml

Please attach it to any bug report.
    The application will exit now.

Here is the contents of the log file:

    Script exit code: 0

    Script output:

    Hello,

    I tried the PostgreSQL 17 RC1 on Windows 11 x86_64, and it's working fine.
Before installation please make sure following pre-req

    1. Your logon user follow the standard naming conventions
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/customize/desktop/unattend/microsoft-windows-shell-setup-autologon-username
    2. All the required system updates applied.
    3. Installer supported on 64-bit architecture.

    Regards,
    Zaid
