In WaitForReplicationWorkerAttach(), it relies on GetBackgroundWorkerPid() to know the status of the worker which won't give the correct status in case of fork failure. The patch I have posted has a fix for the issue, however, this could be an entirely different issue altogether as it appears from your next email in this thread.
