Mac OS X is based on FreeBSD. I'm not sure if this is what you want,
because I'm not in a Turkish locale, but ...

#include <stdio.h>
#include <ctype.h>

int main()
{
         printf("isspace(0x85) returned %d\n", isspace(0x85));
}

produces:

isspace(0x85) returned 0

... on my Mac OS X 10.4.7 PPC box.
