When I try to run postmaster -i under Pg6.4.2 in a RedHat 5.2, I have the error message:

IpcMemoryCreate: shmget failed (Invalid argument) key=5432001, size=831176, permission=600
FATAL 1:  ShmemCreate: cannot create region
