For the record I submitted patches or pull requests this weekend for all
repositories I was aware of to fix the compatibility with this patch, hoping
that it will save some time to the packagers when they will take care of the
beta.

  7. Remove MaxBackends variable in favor of GetMaxBackends() function.

  8. Fix comments about bgworker registration before MaxBackends initialization

  9. Fix bogus assertion in BootstrapModeMain().

  10. Make sure MaxBackends is always set
