My basic proposal is that we optionally allow symlinks when creating tablespace directories, and that we interrogate those symlinks during a dump so administrators can move tablespaces around without having to modify environment variables or system tables. I also suggested creating an extent directory to hold extents, like extent/2 and extent/3. This will allow administration for smaller sites to be simpler. -- Bruce Momjian | http://www.op.net/~candle pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 853-3000 + If your life is a hard drive, | 830 Blythe Avenue + Christ can be your backup. | Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026
