I tried to build plperl on 7.4.1,

On my system

perl -MConfig -e 'print $Config{ccdlflags}'

returns 

-rdynamic -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE

however the build ends up using

-rpath,$prefix/lib
